Do you know your core values?

Our core values help us make decisions about the course of our lives, whether to say "yes" or "no" to an opportunity, or a direction for life. Do you know what your are?

The link below will take you to a free exercise that will help you to hone in on what is really important to you. Then, you can learn to base your life upon it. For example, if "family" is your top value then taking a job that would force you to travel Monday to Friday may be in direct opposition to what you want for your life. To take that job would be against what you say you believe and will cause internal conflict and emotional problems for you. You may decide to take another job so that you can spend time with your family.

Before starting the exercise, I suggest you spend some time with the Lord and ask Him to help show you what is most valuable for you. You may find that He is able to clear out competing ideas or someone else's version of what should be important to you so that you can really claim what you believe.

When you click the link below a pdf file will open. Follow the exercise and then come back to see how to put it to work for you.

After finishing the exercise, go to the core values page and see how placing what you most want at the center of your life helps determine whether your life is fulfilling.

You might also want to go to the balanced living page for more information on balancing life based upon who you are and what you believe in.
