On the Wings of Love

Given the current economic climate in today's world where does your hope lie?
As we each face the everyday hustle of living it seems we've lost perspective of just how amazing God is. Our values have definitely changed with regards to enjoying the simple things in life.
We no longer esteem or hold in high regard things such as, the smell of fresh air on a warm summer morning; the sound of birds chirping; a genuine conversation or even a handwritten letter. Everything today screams fast, quick, and in a hurry!
So I ponder this thought even in the midst of our microwave era. Are we so far off the mark that we've lost sight of what truly matters?
They tell me hindsight is 20/20. So looking back, in our efforts to simplify our lives have we actually complicated them? And if so, how do we get back on track with God's original plan for our lives dating back to Adam & Eve?
I'd imagine it's going to take a shift in focus. We're going to have to go back to our roots and re-connect with the common denominator that links us all, love.
Our lives at times seem to be in flight but it appears we're going nowhere. It's as though we're at a standstill watching each day pass us by. And although there is a church on just about every street corner there are still souls yearning to be fed, many of which are severely malnourished.
The reality is that we've opted for text messaging over genuine prayer. Social media instead of a warm embrace, drive-thru food spots instead of Sunday supper. For these reasons alone I'm led to believe that God's heart is saddened. I can't imagine that this is what he had in mind when he created the world.
So what is the solution?
The only hope we have for arriving at our divine destinies is total surrender. We must be willing to let go of the steering wheel and trust God completely.
It is only when we put our faith in him not the stock market, the government, or any other higher authority that we are then propelled to new heights.
You can rest assured that you will breathe a lot easier flying at your new altitude in Christ Jesus. The things of this world such as the economic crisis that I mentioned earlier will no longer weigh you down because in him you will have found safety nestled in the bosom of his unconditional love.
